October 2022
During the autumn, we will build and start up a number of exciting plants for liquid biogas, also known as LBG. First out is the pressure regulation plant for Örebro municipality, which hereby takes a major step to make gas supplies more stable and enable an expansion of the biogas network in Örebro.
The plant is now complete and will soon be commissioned. Once up and running, the cryogenic tank, which can be likened to a giant vacuum insulated thermos, will be able to store up to 89m3 of liquid biogas at minus 160 degrees Celsius.
When the pressure in the gas pipeline is too low, the plant starts to vaporize LBG from the tank to gas form in a controlled process where the volume in atmospheric pressure expands about 600 times from liquid to gas form.
In addition to being a back-up to the gas network, our facility also serves as a back-up for gas supply to the nearby Bettorp public transport depot if it cannot be supplied with gas from the dedicated high-pressure facility.
