How does it work?

How does it work to refuel with biogas? What should I consider if I want to buy a biogas filling station? Is biogas good for the climate? What happens if I accidentally refuel with natural gas? How can I get advice on how to procure a gas filling station?

We hope to answer this and much more in the questions below.

Yes, biogas is a very good and sustainable energy source for several reasons:

  1. Environmentally friendly: Biogas is a renewable energy source produced from organic matter, which means it contributes to reducing the use of fossil fuels, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
  2. Local production: Biogas can be produced locally from waste and manure, meaning it reduces dependence on imported fuels and supports the local economy.
  3. Circular economy: Biogas production contributes to the circular economy by recycling and converting organic waste and manure into energy and biofertilizer. This reduces the need for chemical fertilizers and contributes to a more sustainable agricultural policy.
  4. Flexibility: Biogas can be used to generate electricity, heat or fuel for the transport sector, making it a flexible and versatile energy source.

In conclusion, biogas is an excellent and sustainable energy source that can contribute to a more environmentally friendly and circular economy, while supporting local production and use of energy. This is why the EU is also investing heavily in expanding biogas production across Europe to replace more and more of the use of fossil gases. Read more about RePower EU.

Congratulations and thank you! By asking whether gas cars are environmentally friendly, you show that you are committed to a green transition and interested in exploring more alternatives.

Even if you fill up with natural gas instead of biogas, gas cars emit significantly less carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides and particles than gasoline and diesel cars. If you fill up with biogas, which makes up over 95% of all vehicle gas in Sweden, gas cars are as environmentally friendly as electric cars from a lifecycle perspective. This is because biogas is a renewable energy source that even has net negative emissions by avoiding methane emissions into the atmosphere.

Gas cars can be a great option for those who are looking for an environmentally friendly car but may not yet be ready to invest in an electric car or for those who need longer range and faster refueling time. We encourage you to read more about the benefits of gas cars and biogas to make an informed decision on which option is best for you and your needs.

Our customers who invest in biogas filling stations, mobile gas flats and decompression solutions are driven by the desire to switch to sustainable energy solutions and many of them operate biogas filling stations both regionally and internationally. It is very encouraging when these customers trust us to deliver such solutions time and time again. Among our customers we find companies like Air Liquide Skagerak, Vehicle Gas, Gasum, OG Clean Fuels, Småländska Bränslen, ST1 Biogas, and Swedish Biogas (listed alphabetically).

Municipalities wishing to contribute to the green transition can also launch tenders to build gas filling stations using locally produced biogas. If you are considering tendering for a gas filling station, there is a lot to consider, and obtaining references can be one of the most important aspects once you have completed your needs analysis.

A third customer group that is becoming increasingly common is industries that want to become fossil-free by using biogas as an energy source. We are happy to offer our expertise and assistance in developing decompression solutions to meet the needs of these customers and contribute to a more sustainable future.

If you are unsure about how to go about procuring a biogas filling station, it is not surprising, as there are many different factors to consider. If you wish, we can help you as part of a consultancy assignment to analyze your needs and develop a suitable specification for your biogas plant.

Once you have a well-founded procurement case, it is very important to obtain references and weigh them reasonably in the request for proposal to ensure that you get a tailored and functional solution.

For us at Processkontroll Green Technology , customer satisfaction is the most important parameter. We ensure that our facilities operate flawlessly and that, in the event of any deviations, we rectify them quickly and competently. This gives us a high level of trust with our customers, who come back project after project. While we don't necessarily always aim to be the cheapest, we are dedicated to offering quality at the lowest possible cost over time.

Although refueling with biogas may seem unfamiliar at first, it is just as easy as refueling with gasoline/diesel. Here you can you will find a short movie made by our customer Småländska Bränslen on how to refuel compressed vehicle gas.
For LBG, BIO-LNG, ie. liquid biogas, you can here see a movie from the LCBG filling station Mörtlösa that we built for Svensk Biogas.
