Efficient and fossil-free de-icing of trains: Innovative project with Flogas and Train Alliance

As large parts of Sweden were unexpectedly swept into the grip of winter just after Easter, it was particularly pleasing to see one of our latest projects well underway. Through a partnership with Flogas Sverige AB, we have successfully delivered a decompression plant and a mobile biogas truck to Train Alliance in Hallsberg.

This initiative facilitates efficient and completely fossil-free de-icing of trains within their facilities, which is a clear sign of our joint commitment to integrating sustainable energy solutions across the mobility sector. The project thus contributes to improved environmental and operational efficiency.

Flogas provides the necessary fossil-free biogas, which is delivered in our mobile gas tank equipped with composite cylinders. Our mobile gas cylinders are specially designed to handle up to 4.5 tons of biogas at a pressure of 250 bar. This capacity plays a crucial role in supplying the de-icing process with the energy needed. The high pressure from the cylinders is reduced in a controlled manner in our decompression container to exactly match the needs of the burners, ensuring both an efficient and safe de-icing process.
